The NAMU NAMU FC50 Smart Food Waste Disposal is eligible for Brisbane City Council's Compost Rebate Program as food waste dehydrator equipment under the Food Waste Recycling Equipment category.

  2. Keep your NAMU NAMU tax receipt.
  3. Check the latest rebate amount, eligibility requirements and program terms on the Brisbane City Council website.
  4. Apply for your rebate directly through Brisbane City Council.

Common questions

Is the Compost Bin eligible?
No. Council classes kitchen caddies as collection containers rather than equipment that breaks food waste down, so our Compost Bin 3L and 6L are not eligible. The FC50 is eligible under the food waste dehydrator category.

Is the rebate applied at checkout?
No. You pay the full price at purchase, then apply to Council directly. If your application is approved, Council pays the rebate to your nominated bank account.

Can I claim for more than one item?
No. Council allows one rebate per household per category, and the rebate is linked to the property address rather than the individual resident. Applications are submitted online through Council's website.

Can I claim if I'm renting?
Yes. Council allows both tenants and owner-occupiers to apply, as long as you live at the property. Landlords and property managers cannot claim for their rental properties. As a benchtop appliance, the FC50 requires no installation.
