Both in powder-coated steel, matte warm off-white inside and out — a shade warmer than the FC50's matte white. Wire handles. Each lid carries a replaceable activated carbon fibre filter that keeps odours in check, lasting around six months.
Two sizes, two jobs
The 3L is the everyday collector — peels, grounds and offcuts, gathered beside the chopping board. The 6L is the larger of the pair: a generous caddy for bigger households, and for FC50 owners, the place where PlantMix waits before it meets the soil.
Worth knowing
Named conservatively — the tin says 3L and 6L, but measured to the brim they hold 3.9 and 6.2 litres.
The lid filters are not washable. An occasional airing in the sun helps them along, and they are a different filter from the FC50's — the two are not interchangeable.
Emptying collected scraps every few days is still the best habit, particularly through an Australian summer.
Care: hand wash with mild detergent and a soft sponge, then air-dry upside down. Not dishwasher safe. A bin liner and prompt cleaning keep both bins at their best.
Each bin is covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing faults, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
